David Bahr joined the Berkeley Endowment Management Company in 2018 as an Investment Officer. Prior to BEMCO, Bahr was at the J. Paul Getty Trust in Los Angeles focused on public markets. Previously, David was with Casey Family Programs as well as the University of Washington Investment Management Company (UWINCO) in Seattle. Bahr graduated with a B.A. in Economics and English from the University of Washington and is a CFA Charterholder.
James Berta joined the Berkeley Endowment Management Company in 2017 as an Investment Associate. Prior to joining BEMCO, Berta was an investment banking analyst in the Financial Institutions Group at Wells Fargo Securities. He earned his B.B.A. in Finance from Michigan State University.
Ashley Beuchel joined the Berkeley Endowment Management Company in 2016 as an Investment Associate. Prior to joining BEMCO, Beuchel was an investment banking analyst in the Consumer & Retail Group at William Blair, and prior to that was an investment banking analyst at BB&T Capital Markets. She earned her B.B.A. in Finance from The College of William & Mary.
Melody Ing is an Investment Officer at Berkeley Endowment Management Company and joined in 2018. Prior to BEMCO, Ing spent several years at Hall Capital Partners with portfolio responsibilities in Absolute Return, Fixed Income and Real Assets. Ing was formerly at Clearwater Capital Partners based in Hong Kong covering Asian distressed debt. She began her career at Goldman Sachs in San Francisco in the Private Wealth Management division and spent a number of years in the Special Situations Group in London. Ing graduated from Harvard Business school in 2009 and Northwestern University with a BA in Economics in 2002.
David McAuliffe is the President and Chief Investment Officer of the Berkeley Endowment Management Company. Prior to BEMCO, McAuliffe spent eleven years as a Senior Investment Officer with the University of Washington Investment Management Company (UWINCO), with portfolio responsibilities across multiple asset classes. McAuliffe was also formerly a Managing Director and head of information technology investment banking at Cascadia Capital, LLC. McAuliffe began his career as a consultant at Deloitte Consulting Group, focused on corporate strategy and operations projects. Other experiences includes private equity and corporate development roles. McAuliffe sits on the investment committee of the Seattle Art Museum. McAuliffe graduated with a BA degree in Economics from Carleton College, an MA degree in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University School for Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and an MBA degree from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
Catherine Nguyen joined the Berkeley Endowment Management Company in 2017 as Operations Director. Prior to joining BEMCO, Nguyen spent four years at Top Tier Capital Partners, LLC, a venture capital focused fund of funds, where she most recently served as Fund Controller. Previously, she was a Senior Associate in KPMG LLP’s audit practice, working primarily in commercial banking. Nguyen earned a B.A. in Business Economics with an Accounting Emphasis from the University of California Santa Barbara. She is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and has passed all three levels of the CFA Program.
Angela Tripido joined the Berkeley Endowment Management Company in 2016 as an Administrative Manager. Prior to joining BEMCO, Tripido worked in the finance department at TMX Finance LLC where she managed all communications for investor relations and coordinated initiatives for the Board of Directors. Previously, Tripido served as an administrative assistant and project coordinator with both a global engineering firm and a start-up healthcare company, where she supported the corporate insurance program in its entirety and worked closely with the HR departments on all matters from onboarding to supplemental benefits. She began her career as an Elementary Education teacher and earned a B.A. in Education from Rowan University.
Nicholas Werner joined the Berkeley Endowment Management Company in 2010 as its first Director of Investments. For the eight years prior to joining BEMCO, Werner worked at Ironwood Capital Management, a multi-billion dollar fund of hedge funds, where he most recently served as a managing director, head of the research department, and as a member of the Investment and Management Committees. Werner began his career as an analyst in the real estate investment banking group at Banc of America Securities. Werner graduated with an A.B. in Economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from The Wharton School at The University of Pennsylvania where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar (top 5% of class). He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
