Endowment

Generous gifts of endowment from alumni, parents, faculty, and friends, and careful stewardship of their investments have provided the financial resources necessary to preserve and protect Berkeley's preeminence for more than a century. Through 14 recessions and other economic crises, Berkeley’s endowment has continued to grow, helping sustain the comprehensive academic excellence and public character of the University.

To bolster these efforts, The Campaign for Berkeley seeks to raise approximately half of its $3-billion goal in endowment gifts to support Cal's students, faculty, and programs by June 30, 2013.
